'Second-class citizens': Union's Manly Fast Ferry claims allowed | nickbonyhady

The Maritime Union can lawfully claim the Manly Fast Ferry service treats its workers as "second-class citizens", a Federal Court judge has found.

The crux of the dispute is that fast ferry workers are paid comparably to commercial charter boat staff, but less than workers on other ferries, the union said.December, Justice Griffiths dismissed the NRMA’s claims for injurious falsehood and trademark infringement.NRMA / Maritime Union of Australia

He concluded that the logo, which was used alongside text reading "Don’t let wages sink to the bottom of Sydney Harbour", was a metaphor for the union’s argument that wages were too low.
