PM warns of economic downturn under ALP: David Gazard: You don’t increase taxes by $200b, which is what labor are promising. You keep spending under control, you keep providing jobs for people. MORE: Speers

Scott Morrison has stoked fears of a recession under a Labor government, warning a vote for the Opposition would be an 'economic leap in the dark'.

Labor has dismissed warnings of an economic downturn as 'desperate and dishonest', with Shadow treasurer Chris Bowen slamming Mr Morrison's comments as 'highly irresponsible'. When asked if he was being alarmist by raising the prospect of a recession, the prime minister said, 'I think it's the truth.' Image: News Corp Australia

Wasn’t this their scare campaign from three weeks ago?

But data

And don’t ever forget that Labor got us through the GFC! It wasn’t pathetic Scott Morrison or Joe Hockey!

Scott Morrison caught lying again. He has us in over half a trillion of debt himself. Can’t trust Morrison at all. All he does is lie.

Simple liberal get kicked out. Labor leave a huge mess while they are in power. Then Australia put the liberal back in to clean up the mess labor left and Australia is paying for a labor government for years to come.

and yet tax revenue is always higher under the Liberals

Under Labor, not Liberals. The 3 x triple A rating came under scrutiny under the Liberals

ALP gunna have to fix it again 1983 LNP hand to ALP. Economic ranking 20th 1996 ALP hand to LNP. Economic ranking 6th Labor+14 2007 LNP hand to ALP. Economic ranking 9th LNP-3 2013 ALP hand to LNP. Economic ranking 3rd Labor+6 2018 LNP preside over economy ranked 18th LNP-15

But they don't know how to do that....

“You keep spending under control”? Really - when are you going to start Mr PM?

Spending under control? Oh yeah, like giving $423 mil in a closed tender to a company registered at a beach shack. This government couldn't get much further away from running a so called 'tight fiscal package'.

hasnt learnt a thing. Sniff of a downturn & the LNP reflex is to cut spending & bring on the austerity. That tired old LNP rhetoric has been debunked. Labor are giving bigger tax cuts to low & middle income earners. The very people more likely to spend & keep the economy going.

200 Billion without a timeframe is a meaningless number. 200,000 Billion Trillion sounds better, and would be just as meaningless. Oh- but then you would sound like an idiot I guess.

No, you tax the filthy rich and redistribute to the poor, who actually spend their money, thereby generating economic activity, instead of hoarding dynastic wealth. auspol

Can you please tell this genius to look at the 523 billion we have now reached in debt. Up 300 billion in 6 years.

I thought you told us you had the budget deficit under control. Now you say it will be affecting future generations. Which one is the lie?

More fuckwits 🤷🏻‍♂️ Where da ya git it ?

Lyin’Gazza

Given our economy’s growth depends significantly on the service based sectors & consumer spending at about 60%, stagnant wages under this gov are a stark difference to Labor’s income tax policy with double the tax cuts Libs will offer. Abolishing hand outs $5.9b ain’t bad !

Already started GAZZA and all while under your PRECIOUS ScumBucket ScottMorrisonMP .👏👏👏 credlin theboltreport pmlive thedrum auspol

Treasury department itself revealed yesterday they did not model the claim by the gov it would create 1.25 million jobs rendering the gov rhetoric a piece of shit out of JoshFrydenberg ass

So by this logic, given the Howard Gov was the highest taxing in our history ( shortens would be less), his term in gov should really have produced less jobs, & halted the mining boom perhaps ? 😂 DrCraigEmersonAre economists supportin Labor policies coz they want less jobs? 😂

you run a tight fiscal package ......😂😂🤣😂😂😂 isn't debt n deficit at record highs

Rubbish, the coalition have lead us to this recession, can you imagine going through a recession needing stimulus and having the coalition cut everything, again it's up to Labor to get Australia through the hole the liberals lead us into

Does doubling the debt in 5 years sound like spending is under control....?

Scott Morrison warns of economic downturn under LaborThe Prime Minister was careful when asked if he was actually saying Australia could go into recession under Labor. Because his govt is leaving us with double debt, little wage growth and an impending recession? That’s labor’s fault is it? And this would be the gov that removed the debt ceiling and managed to triple gov debt How many more days do we have to suffer these moral bankrupts? They are truly pathetic. Lol ScottMorrisonMP the downturn is in full swing now and it happened under your government.
