Scott Morrison has defended his intense focus on asylum seekers who arrive by boat, when thousands more people arrive by plane each year asking for Australia's protection. 9News

PM sticks with boats battle as government sails to election defeat The government is bracing for hundreds of people on Manus Island and Nauru to come to Australia for medical treatment, after Labor and the crossbench passed laws giving doctors greater input. The immigration minister will still be able to block their transfers on national security and character grounds, but these veto powers have been curtailed.

The company, whose Australian arm was until recently registered to a beach shack on Kangaroo Island, was awarded the contract through a closed tender process. Defending the contract, the prime minister said Paladin was "quite a large company" based in Singapore. "I've been involved in having to put these sort of services in remote locations for a very long time and it is not a cheap exercise," he said.

I cannot believe the rhetoric and explanations that come from their mouths. The person is or is not a refugee regardless of how they arrive. Ah yes I forgot rapists and murderers don’t use planes to arrive

How about taking care of the Aussies here before bringing in more immigrants. There are alot of people with out a roof over their heads and the numbers are growing due to a shortage of accommodation for poorer people not wasting their pension on drug and alcohol abuse

That’s a secret we do not talk about it it’s not bringing any votes

It may have something to do with drowning. When coming by plane they need some documentation which can be checked. By boat they can destroy evidence of their past and cost millions in rescuing them from watery graves. Possible you think

Because those who have arrived by plane have already passed background checks, and have passports, and validated ID with them. We know who they are, and have already deemed them to be an acceptable applicant. They're not jumping the queue to gain illegal entry!

Morrison really seems to have nailed the problems, well done to him and his team.

On climate change, Scott Morrison is embracing politics as the art of the possibleThe Prime Minister will need to lead the way in selling the Coalition's climate policy to the public. These Morrison puff pieces dressed up as ‘analysis’ are wearing pretty thin. The anthropogenic climate change myth is ALL about politics, and nothing to do with science, or even reality for that matter. At the end of the day, it's the general public who will bear the real cost of this scam on humanity. Awesome work, well done.
