Sky News host Chris Kenny says only a fraction of the scientific community have signed a petition to declare a climate emergency, and therefore it is merely “an exercise in advocacy”.

Mr Kenny’s comments come after a group of scientists rallied and put a declaration together, joining a global push to call for a climate emergency. The Sky News host said 11,000 is a “significant number of signatures” but said it does need to be kept “in perspective”.

“This is 11,000 scientists from all sorts of areas from around the world, effectively signing a petition,” he said. “Now I don't know precisely how many scientists there are in the world, 10 million or 100 million, it will depend on how you define scientist. “But clearly millions upon millions of scientists have not declared a climate emergency.”

Who to choose between a partisan hack and 11000 actual scientists 🤔

Audit these scientists income streams origin , and we will see their greedy secret 👍

11 thousand is a lot of scientist.Of course you would have to take into consideration their field of science and one could presume that the 11 thousand deal in fields related to climate/weather/ environment. Not all scientist do.Poor attempt by Kenny/sky to discredit good people.

Chris Kenny is an endless exercise in unjustified self importance. Sad!
