Sydney's Northern Beaches was rocked with flash flooding on Tuesday afternoon as 40mm of rain descended on the popular Palm Beach in the space of just 90 minutes.
"That would have to be the scariest trip round the bends in the 46 years I’ve lived in Avalon…the only thing visible were the brake lights of the car in front. And hoping they weren’t in the ditch," she wrote. Another added:"I was engulfed in my mini on the bends by a truck coming in opposite direction. I actually ducked when the wash hit the car! so scary."
Commuters were advised to plan their trip using livetraffic.com and avoid flooded roads alongside keeping clear of creeks, storm drains and out of flood water.
