Saudi teen Rahaf Alqunun's claim for asylum referred to Australia for consideration

I know why she picked Australia - Because it's so close to Thailand where she can go and play just like the arab footballer that claimed asylum here and them went to Thailand holidaying.

imagine anyone from Saudi Arabia just hop on a plane to Oz and then claim asylum ...what about those stuck in detention for years ...

Hilarious. She wants to go to Canada. Her second choice is Australia. How does it feel to be second choice? She’s from a wealthy elite Saudi upper class tribe. If she was really in danger she’d claim asylum in Thailand

She will be rejected because she is not going to try and kill or maim anyone!!!!

What wrong with Thailand? it's beautiful and the people are super friendly!

2 D_A_Y_S!!! This proves it takes TWO DAYS to assess and process asylum seekers PeterDutton_MP ! Not torture people year, after year, after year in FAKE “processing” detention centres that are actually torture concentration camps! Australia CrimesAgainstHumanity

Strange she doesn’t want to seek asylum in the non-welfare state of Cambodia.

There is nothing that needs to be considered on this matter. We cannot piss of a country just because of one teenager that is not right, and we do not need another refugee here that is going to be causing international problems. I feel sorry for her but this is my home not hers

send qantas to get her and bring her here asap..

Good luck with that.

mmm 18 years old? usually referred to as an adult or woman. Why call her a 'teen'? To imply she is a minor? vanilla journalism?

Could just as easily be a spoilt brat running away from home but who would be politically incorrect enough to investigate that possibility? Luckily there would be no way her wicked family could punish her if she resided in Australia.

She should direct her request to Canada. Because PeterDutton_MP is so racist, prejudiced against refugees, immigrants and women and untrustworthy it is unsafe to appeal to Australia in this case.

You buckle to the dellusional left whims of free water taxi from indonesia ... now, here is a real refugee and you are dithering as to bring her in or not to. Should be ashame of yourself.

Should be expedited.

Let her go to Australia. Please.

Let her in!

And Canada there are several bidders.

I presume there are some facts missing from this story. latikambourke PeterDutton_MP will probably screw up this case!! latikambourke She’s already in a safe country let her stay there.

Australia considers visa for Saudi teen Rahaf al-Qunun after UN grants her refugee statusAustralia is considering granting a visa to Saudi teenager Rahaf al-Qunun after a United Nations agency found the 18-year-old detained at Bangkok airport is a genuine refugee. As long as she integrates and doesn't want to impose Sharia law in any form in Australia. She can of course introduce us to the many culinary delights of her culture. But hey, kill the beasts without cruelty. Australia was her “preferred” country in which to claim asylum. 😂 That actually makes her a migrant, not a refugee. Good news! I hope she'll be granted refugee status and can settle in to a new life in Australia.

UN refers Saudi refugee case to Australia - 9NewsBREAKING: The United Nations has deemed Rahaf Alqunun - a young Saudi woman stuck in Bangkok - to be a refugee, referring her case to Australia. 9News And you wonder why people are sick of the UN? We are a sovereign nation and we can do what we want when it comes to who is allowed to stay here, or who gets deported ! Enough is enough ! Let her in! 😡 This woman will never be safe. The Saudis will come after her. They did with Khashoggi and those two Saudi sisters found floating in the Hudson River last year (after they had requested asylum). Rahaf is very brave.
