Federal police detectives have travelled to Afghanistan and gathered eyewitness testimony implicating Australian special forces soldiers in the brutal assault and murder of a handcuffed detainee.

Federal agents have also obtained witness statements from SAS personnel in Australia about the treatment of the detainee, Afghan farmer and father Ali Jan, and the operation in which he was killed, according to multiple defence sources.Ali Jan was allegedly kicked off a small cliff and later shot dead in a small village called Darwan, in Oruzgan province, in September 2012. Under international law, detainees must be treated humanely and protected from any act of violence.

The police investigation is being conducted by the agency’s Offshore and Sensitive Investigation taskforce under the leadership of deputy commissioner Neil Gaughan and is among the most important probes facing incoming commissioner Rhys Kershaw.

No honour in this. These aren’t soldiers, they are fucking barbarians. Imagine the pandemonium if the taliban did the same to captive coalition soldiers.

Most likely pails in comparison to what the Afghans would have done with them had it been the other way around.

All these is against the Australian National interest and should have been dealt within the armed forces. The ultra leftist leaked the story on purpose to make it public. this will encourage more radicalization in Australia. The ones who leak the story should be prosecuted.

Bring our Boys Home If our Soldiers are in Another Country We Are NOT DEFENDING Australia WE ARE INVADING SOMEONE ELSE

UK had a similar investigation that turned into a legal fee circus driven by false statements.

It’s WAR people... not fair... not pretty....

Maybe it's time to walk away from the mess that was created back in 2003. We are a few months away from 2020, clearly what bullshit the western world was feed back then has not helped the country or the people in Afghanistan.

if it was afghani soldiers they would have shot him in custody regardless

AFP flies to Afghanistan to investigate alleged Australian war crimesAustralian Federal Police investigators have travelled to Afghanistan to investigate war crimes allegedly committed by Australian special forces soldiers. A waste of time without a body as they can't establish the angle of the bullet entry, which would confirm if he was shot while in an elevated spotting position, or thrown from it then shot. Two equally plausible stories with the truth hinging on a detailed forensic analysis. When Australians get killed in times of conflict they’re are casualties of war. When Afghans get killed it’s war crimes. This is what happens when progressives get into the service to get their Uni degree who’ve never been on front line & never will.
