Akuila Uate's stint in the Super League has come to a premature end. NRL 9WWOS

The career of one of the most entertaining try-scorers of the modern rugby league era may be over.

Fijian flyer Akuila Uate - known affectionately as 'Akuila the Thriller' - is returning to Australia just a year and a bit into a three-season deal with the Huddersfield club. The 32-year-old Uate still hopes to continue his career in the NRL but has a chronic ankle injury that restricted him to just 12 games with the British club."He can barely run," a source close to Uate said. "It will be tough for him to get another start, and it's sad that he ends a great career this way."He quickly established himself as a crowd favourite for the Knights and left the club for Manly in 2017 as the highest try-scorer in the club's history.

Why Xerri must be banned from the NRL for lifeThere is no place in the NRL for drug cheats and teenager Bronson Xerri should be no exception, writes MARK LEVY. I heard he's been let off. Talk about writing for writing's sake... what, it's too wet outside to look for a story? You trot out last week's news, add in some innuendo about a dead guy and pump it out to sell ads... Come on, man. Mark Levy have you forgotten Sandor Earl. Banned for 4 years did his crime and time and now got a 2nd chance with the Melbourne Storm. Where were you when Earl and the Storm made peace and showed the NRL and it's supporters that all people deserve a second chance.

'Stuck in time': Julia Banks is back to combat political sexismHaving found 'the higher the woman's profile, the greater the level of abuse', the former federal MP is fighting sexist treatment of female politicians. Ugghhh all this victimhood is becoming so draining 🙄😫 Zzzzzzzzzzz back to sleep Hopeless individual. Great that she deserted LiberalAus and that competent GregHuntMP soundly defeated her. She's the classic example of someone who always plays the victim. Talented people of both sexes will usually get ahead without stupid quotas. MornPenShire
