There have been another three COVID-linked deaths in South Australia, which on Wednesday reported 4,856 new cases of the virus — about 1,400 more than Tuesday.The latest three people to die were women aged in their 50s, 80s and 90sThe increase coincides with a jump in the number of people undergoing PCR testing.There are 247 cases in hospital — seven fewer than yesterday — including 10 people in intensive care.
After the March state election, Premier Peter Malinauskas requested that SA Health release the numbers at midday on a daily basis. The latest reported caseload is significantly more than the 3,463 cases reported on Tuesday, and is exactly 600 more than the 4,256 recorded on Wednesday last week.
