SA Government backflips on borders, pushing back opening date for NSW and ACT

South Australian Premier Steven Marshall has announced that restrictions on travel from New South Wales and the ACT will no longer ease next week as planned because of the ongoing coronavirus threat.

He said the "super-spreader event" at the Crossroads Hotel at Casula, in western Sydney, had created too much uncertainty to allow unrestricted travel. Mr Marshall said it was unlikely a similar hard border would be imposed with New South Wales, meaning travellers from that state can continue to enter SA as long as they quarantine on arrival for 14 days.

Sydney pub worker tests positive for COVID-19, as NSW introduces $3,000 hotel quarantine feeA staff member at the Crossroads Hotel in south-west Sydney tests positive for COVID-19, while travellers returning to New South Wales will have to pay $3,000 for their fortnight stay in hotel quarantine from next week. 3000 per person. Wow. Good luck bringin ya expat family home now. So if someone flies out of Australia due to an emergency and return a month later, will they also need to pay $3000 or is it just for citizens and residents who are planning to return to Oz since the pandemic started Need some clarity pls I was surprised how many ppl are still travelling during a pandemic. Of course they should pay their hotel quarantine fee. If ppl at the start self isolated we would not need guarded quarantine.

Premier warns NSW is at a 'crossroads' after Sydney pub cluster expands to six peopleEvery person who visited a Sydney pub centre over an eight-day period has been told to self-isolate after a staffer tested positive to coronavirus. And so it begins. We only need a handful of these people to ignore the warning, do their on thing and in 3 weeks we’ll be just like Melbourne.
