Australia is not safe unless Russia is stopped from its attack on Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky has told the Australian parliament.

Australia is not safe unless Russia is stopped from attacking Ukraine, and a failure to do so will embolden other countries to invade their neighbours, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has declared in a historic address to Australia’s Parliament.

“Whatever is happening in our region ... [can] become a real threat to your country and your people as well. Because this is the nature of the evil – it can instantly cross any distance and barriers, destroy lives.”Welcoming Mr Zelensky as a “lion of democracy”, Prime Minister Scott Morrison pledged continuing military support, as well as help to Ukrainians rebuild their country.“Our pledge is when freedom prevails, Australia will help the people of Ukraine rebuild as well.

“The most terrible thing is if we don’t stop Russia now, if we don’t hold Russia accountable, then some other countries of the world who are looking forward to a similar war against their neighbours will decide that such things are possible for them as well,” he said.Although he expressed gratitude for Australian support, Mr Zelensky said more help was needed.

Despite the Kremlin promising this week to ease up its bombardment of Kyiv and the northern city of Chernihiv, Russian forces continued to target the cities.

Not good enough, there should be a total withdrawal. Earlier today it was reported Russia was regrouping fallen forces? Strange coincidence I suppose? The same country that said it wasn't going to invade for months before it did. Putin lies as much as Morrison.
