Rushcutters Bay Park skate complex proposal heats up: Councillor slams opponents as ‘old people with nothing else to do’ | Domaincomau

The council voted to write to the new minister, although wrongly named him on the agenda and minutes as Don Harwin, the Special Minister of State and the Minister for the Public Service and Employee Relations, Aboriginal Affairs, and the Arts, instead of the actual new incumbent Matt Kean.

“I can’t get over this,” she said. “They said they would abide by this, and now they’ve approved a motion to fight it. Potts Point and Kings Cross Heritage and Residents’ Society president Andrew Woodhouse said the order was made by the Office of Environment and Heritage and the minister might have limited powers to cancel it. He also complained that no detailed structure plans had been approved, and no heritage impact statement put on public exhibition.

Another of the objectors, local Robbie Hall, who visits the park most days, said the latest move was disgraceful.

Domaincomau “Sydney’s prettiest harbourside parks has been revived, with a councillor claiming its main objectors were “old people with nothing else to do with their time” who “will be dead in 10 years”. Guess what Councillor Arsehole, you will grow old one day, too. Can’t happen soon enough

Domaincomau Have a nice skate park with an outdoor raised cafe where the elderly can push their walkers to and watch the young people break their limbs..sounds great to me woollahramc

Bankstown Square is empty b/c every1 is at a beach in Beirut. Why not report on that instead of these plastic phonies from the Eastern Suburbs?
