I wouldn’t be able to keep my mouth shut . I would be telling one of them to get up
The Grandson of this woman has come forward to say that she was seated and got up because she was getting off at the next station!
This is disgusting. Too many people of younger generation never take their eyes off their phones. I spent 12 hours on a plane and the passenger beside me never spoke once, Had to nudge him to move for toileting purposes. Most are brain dead and it is getting worse.
Oh my! Where has respect for the elderly gone? I would not be able to sleep at night knowing I did not get off my seat to offer it to someone as such. Absolutely appalling!!!
Apparently, According to a later interview with her grandson she was waiting to get off at the next station the train was stopping at. Someone could assist her off the train.
if its true not surprised.. world has gone bonkers
You see it all the time now even school kids no respect no manners
According to that English bloke from Transport NSW on t.v. last night , the picture shown doesn't adequately explain what happened in that moment in time . ' The Next excuse will be leaving Platform 12 in a few minutes 😡👊 ' ...
Shameless of the people sitting
Aren’t those seats reserved for the elderly, pregnant and disabled? What are they doing sitting there in the first place?
What has happened to humanity? All going down the sh1thole
PCKJ3627 It’s diabolical that as a society we don’t practice basic manners.
The saddest thing is that our oldies and I’m one of them miss the good old days of manners and respect. Of knowing that the younger generation would be looking out for you. Now they just look at their phones and are probably messaging the person next to them.
That is the most disrespectful picture I’ve seen in a while!! That’s someone’s grandma or mum- that’s just awful 😞
These people should hang their head in shame! Disgraceful
Disgraceful! Do they not have mothers?
I’m gonna throw another spanner in and say she was disregard cos she is white. Let’s double down and divide the internet again
Got on a couple of trams last week after years of not using public transport and I was left gobsmacked, I am 46 and had no problem getting up and offering my seat when an elder got on but not one person younger than me twenties &kids in school uniform ever offered.
Reflection of todays world
This women deserve a seat and the person taking the video should have stood up for her
One of those ppl has come forward to say this lady was on her way off the train and had just come down the stairs. It was a staged (or taken out of context) photo to get a viral reaction.
All those people complaining it's a set up. The woman did have a seat but got up to leave the train when the photo was taken. Have a bit of respect for the younger generation.
It’s not just respect it’s all about bad manners as well. Disgusting
That’s absolutely disgusting to see and that woman texting on her phone whilst that elderly lady stands ..... incomprehensible I’m really shocked and saddened
Or was she up waiting for her stop?
Wow!!!! This is really sad. Shame on those young people seated while poor lady is standing. Whoever raised them did a very bad job.
It's fake she just came from upstairs and was getting off
Australia is the heaven for the young but the hell for the old. So, won’t say a fair go any more, it makes you more disgraceful.
Absolutely appalling
That’s distressing! Someone should have intervened for this poor lady.
Here you go...it's all over Facebook. Their parents must be so proud. I wonder how they treat their own grandparents? EntitledCommonCourtesy ElderAbuse
Don't blur their faces out, name and shame the entitled little shits. CommonCourtesy
A sad reflection on our society today
Sydney is a bad place to bring up your kids. No respect in Sydney.
Head phones in+ face glued to screen= zero social skills
Outrageous and disappointing
Is everyone sure about the context. Perhaps it was seconds from her stop?
Well in Melbourne I am constantly offered a seat. Hooray for Melbourne youth!
Divided the internet? This is clearly disrespectful and ill mannered behaviour.
I am 85 years but would gladly offer my seat for someone obviously in greater need !
Shame shame on young generation.
That is disgusting. But its also a sign of our times. the new generation is disrespectful, but often unknowingly.
I wouldn’nt have pixilated their inconsiderate faces.
Why is the internet divided? Oh the internet is full of little shits like those people sitting, that's right. That's disgraceful from those young people sitting, zero empathy or compassion, faces stuck in phones, disgraceful, shit humans.
You can bet you bottom dollar they vote Greens or Labor left. No respect all about themselves.
Gee people are disrespectful these days. It’s common courtesy to stand and let the frail or sick to stand and let them have your seat.
Heaven forbid you tell people off these days and educate them in schools. It should just be in their blood to do this for someone elderly or visibly sick. Entitled POS’s.
I blame Steve Jobs
Absolutely disgraceful. How does this divide our nation? Fk mewe’ve become apathetic. This is heartbreaking
The old lady wasn’t forced to stand up at all. It’s been ascertained that she stood up because the train was arriving at her station.
Absolutely shameful disgrace
1. Did they see her 2. Did she ask for a seat? Perspective
Disgusting
There is no need to blur those faces. They’re in public and anything or anyone can be photographed.
I see this everyday on trains in Sydney, it’s disgusting. I’m the first person to offer my seat to any elderly person, pregnant woman, a person with a pram, anyone who’s disabled or anyone with luggage no matter how long my day has been or how tired I am.
Their faces should not be hidden they should be publically shamed for their ignorance and lack of common courtesy!
This is nothing new. It happens every day on the buses. It's disgraceful and downright appalling the lack of manners and respect shown by commuters. The one thing I taught my son from an early age was to always offer his seat up on a crowded bus/train.
The days of trying to do the right thing are gone, trained out of us by the constant hiss returned to us when trying to do the right thing. Reap what you sow ladies.
Shame on you, stand up for the old lady you f---wits
Happens all the time! People just put their head down, look at phone pretending not to see the elderly, pregnant or someone in need. I’ve been traveling with a injured foot for the last two weeks and not once anyone has offered me a sit even where they see me struggling to stand
But what is the full story here? Yes, agree the pic looks bad but was the elderly lady waiting for the door to open maybe to get off the train? Also I’ve seen many elder ppl refuse a seat when offered
What if she was getting off next stop?
Why did you pixelare their faces? They should be shamed
No surprises here - no respect. The fabric of society is being degraded by the lefties and their obsession with nonconformity and rebellion. It’s all about them and no one else. Just wait until they have to stand on their own two feet - no pun intended!
It is absolutely disgraceful now I am in my 70s n travel metro regularly City to Werribee n often stand all the way at least 2 hoppers crossing nearly 1 hour many stops no1 👁 eyeballs u that is y they get away with it buds in eyes 👀 shut bad luck 🤬🤬
The more you see, the more any of us , as a parent , needs to teach our kids about real value of empathy and care.
What the fuck is wrong with those people .. Show they’re faces .. and to the person taking the photo why weren’t you asking those arseholes to stand up so the lady could sit safely 🤬
Why block their faces, let their parents see what they raised.
This is a difference between Easter and Western culture. Don't blame the internet. It's respect which is diminishing from our society.
See it often and sometimes they have their bag on the sit beside them and they get affended when asked to move it so you can sit down and they were asked nicely
This is an example of the low-life generation we have spawned. How bad can it get? We abort unwanted children so maybe their next move is the elderly.
Should be ashamed of themselves and why the blurred faces show and shame them
Why the outrage when the pic doesn’t necessarily show what happened? Maybe the woman just get on board, and the ppl stood up for her after the pic was taken? Did the person taking the pic help her at all
There is no excuse.. every single one of them should have stood for her and offered her the seat..!!! This makes me furious. I am so glad I am raising my kids with manners and respect.
Can’t believe what I am seeing.. meanwhile the young girl in the background thinks it’s more important to have a seat to listen her music and be on her phone 🙄 Disgusting!! Disrespectful.!Shame on the parents for raising brats like this! God help my kids if they acted like this!
It is strange how Australians have evolved this way. In Europe and especially Eastern people are still very respectful of older people.
This is no surprise Try being over 50 and getting a job from the new young people in charge of companies My brother was a top Finance Executive in Asia. Can't get a job (or even interview) for 2 years here because those charge 'won't employ anyone over 50' No age discrimination?
that young man on his earbuds sitting there with the hat on, what did his parents teach him? Society is all about me now.
🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
Abhorrent 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 shameonyou
Well kids are brought up now to treat everyone equally. So they probaly dont see an issue. Society reaps what it sews perhaps
Why hide the faces of these self obsessed grubs. Reflection of the parents as role models.
Unfortunately typical of young males and females and their parents
100% no respect these grubs are just sitting there. One thing is for sure we’re all going to get to that age one day hopefully
The world we now live in, disgraceful 🤬
This lady was waiting for the train to stop so she could get off. Walked down to the door by herself. When I'm that age, I hope to be able to stand up too!
not a good look for state of thinking of millenials
Pics... or it didn't happen!
Why did you cover their faces. They should be ashamed of themselves and everyone should know who they are. No RESPECT
I hope people get some level of responsibility and conscience. These people scream at ages care workers treating elderly badly but cant stand up for elderly to offer a seat
beck_sullivan
That's disgraceful, they are all ignoring her, couldn't care less is she falls and hurts herself.
Sometimes we need to see the context, it can be a situation where she got up and came to the door to alight easily at the next stop. I am just saying.
Ignorant cunts
Shameful!
She probably just got on and was limping her way to the seat. The problem with pictures is that is only captures a second. Get over it
You shouldn't have to block their faces, everyone's already seen these rude no manner Grubs.
Dividing the internet? Not the posts I've seen. What type of germ would excuse the people who did not give up their seats? Unless they were all disabled or heavily pregnant they all should have offered their seat. Basic human manners and it shows where we are as a society.
what nationality are the ones just sitting there.?
So sad.respect is paramount
Respect has been thrown out the window and replaced by equality. As painful as it is to see, SJW and the left have made a rod for their back now and this is the result.
This is what people become like in big cities, with all that 'vibrancy'. auspol
First in first served. To give the woman special treatment because of gender, age or disability would go against equality. This is what equality looks like. If all are equal then none are special.
This is very unaustralian, wake up
If these comments are anything to go by, it hasn’t divided anyone; people are universally scathing of the selfish wnkers who didn’t get up
The strange thing many of the nationalities that ignore the elderly actually take really good care of their elderly in their own country, better than we do. What happens when they get to Australia, do they leave their manners in their suitcases?
Whilst the disrespectful youngsters sit glued to their damned devices - I hope they're ashamed, and also their parents, for raising such disgraceful human beings.
Terrible. Kids in a dream world.
If this has divided the internet it just shows the slippery slope our society is on. No respect or regard for anyone but self lone assisting the elderly.
It’s just common courtesy. This elderly lady looks a bit infirm & uncomfortable - it beggars belief that no one offered her a seat. I wonder if the person who took the photo did or just used it for the photo op!
shameful. i found lots of aussies have 'heavy bums', so heavy once sit down they don't want to standup.
This generation are disgusting! They’re too busy with their heads in their phones!
This angers me & also, brings a tear to my eye...🐨😡😪 AusPol
The younger generation are all too busy looking at their fvcking phones. Another side to the story. There is no other side. You offer the elderly, especially one with obvious signs of osteoporosis a seat. In fact you insist she take it. No EXCUSE!
No respect- exactly!
C**ts. They’re all just c**ts! My mother would send down a thunderbolt from above if I didn’t stand for someone older than myself. And I walk with the aid of a crutch!
Saw the original. All young and apparently healthy. Well physically able to play with their phones anyway. Disgraceful.
WOAH........dont go all 'MAGA hat media' here. How do you know that a seat wasn't offered?
Disgusting
Forget about climate change, the culture of our future is rotten already...... Joe_Hildebrand
Ignorant young people
Uncover the faces of these slugs.
Sad fact if life these days. No respect for amyone
