A woman has been labelled “disrespectful” for this “selfish” act on a Sydney train — and her excuse is mind-blowing.

The journey from Sydney’s CBD to Macarthur train station takes over an hour.

“It turns out she was holding the seat for a friend who got on somewhere after the airport while all the other passengers had to stand! Refusing to move her bag for anyone to sit down,” he claimed. The photo shows the frail woman hunched over and clinging to the pole in the aisle of the train, while people nearby sit comfortably in their seats.

I don’t think it’s right to blame millennials for this. I’ve seen millennials behaving more respectfully than the older generation. I’ve found the worst are white women between 45-65, they’re the most entitled bunch when it comes to public transport etiquette.

First world problems 👀👀👀

Is that actually her bag? She doesn’t look like the type to be carrying a high viz backpack and hard hat.

Trains to Campbelltown are always packed, due to not enough services and the additional cutting of services to Campbelltown. The ones that do go there are often delayed so that isn't anything new either. Unless you get on at the first stop....you will stand for most of your trip.

Pick up the bag, throw it off the train, she runs after it, two free seats.

People it’s a bag, move it yourself. Don’t know why this was so hard. Little bag push if off the seat if you have asked and she didn’t move it .

Backpacks have rights too nothing to see here

I experienced a similar situation on my recent cruise with RoyalCaribbean in the Royal Theatre. At every performance, some audience come to the theatre and hold seats for friends and relatives depriving others to take these seats to watch the performance. It’s unethical.

The selfish generation!

Sydney-to-Melbourne train details near Wallan, north of MelbourneBreaking: Two people have died - one believed to be the driver - after the Sydney to Melbourne XPT train carrying about 150 passengers came off the tracks about 45 kilometres north of Melbourne. So sad Victoria is a state full of corrupt f*cks. Accepting faulty rollingstock. Commissioning half baked signalling systems. Nepotism at the highest levels. I would've sacked the entire railway engineering and management staff for moral turpitude. So sad to hear that xx
