Media commentators in Australia have been quick to mock Donald Trump’s comments on Kevin Rudd, during his GB News interview with Nigel Farage.

Kevin Rudd's mud-slinging lobbed at Donald Trump sets the stage for diplomacy road strewn with landmines in likely US power upset

In another tweet Rudd wrote that Trump was, “The most destructive president in history. He drags America and democracy through the mud. He thrives on fomenting, not healing, division. He abuses Christianity, church and bible to justify violence."He told CNN in November of 2020,"I would hope that Republicans would see sense and get the President to behave like a responsible grown up, and so far he's not done that".

In my opinion, it’s the exact opposite. In Trump world, you want Trump to know who you are and ideally, endorse you. It was quite clearly, in my opinion, the first missive in a transaction that Australia will be forced to participate in, whether we like it or not. This, in fact, is a perfect example of exactly why Rudd’s previous comments on Trump would be so toxic for the Australians he represents, in a Trump Presidency.

The UK is the second largest purchaser of US Service exports at USD$80.9 billion in 2022, and the largest supplier of service imports to the US in the same year.
