New South Wales Police Commissioner Mick Fuller has told the Ruby Princess it must leave Australian waters by Sunday.

Authorities are investigating whether pressure had been applied to the ship's doctor to under report the number of sick passengers before it docked in Sydney.

The ship is due to set sail for the US once the deadline expires, however it is unclear whether it will be allowed to dock once it reaches Amercia. More than 600 Australian cases and 19 fatalities have been traced back to the ship.
