Senator SenPaterson says the push to remove scripture lessons from schools is “going to make our society poorer.”

Senator James Paterson says the push to remove scripture lessons from schools is “going to make our society poorer.” Principles have been calling for scripture lessons to be held outside of school hours because they allegedly don’t have enough time to teach their students the curriculum.

“I’m not a believer, but I recognise that the secular values which many Australians subscribe to have Judaeo-Christian origins, and religious understanding and religious literacy is really important to understanding our origins and our freedoms in a Western Civilisation,” Mr Paterson told Sky news host Paul Murray. “Its not about educating people to believe, it’s educating people to understand and frankly, there’s a shocking lack of that in our education system.

SenPaterson Quite the opposite. Scripture is from stories supposedly told over 2k years ago. They've been retold & become like Chinese whispers & lost their substance. Also from unsophisticated times, & society has evolved. Most Christians use it as a weapon now. SeparateStateChurch

SenPaterson Why do they teach fairytales?

SenPaterson Of course it has to be replaced with 100 genders theory, and socialist classes

SenPaterson How about ethics classes instead of fairy tale ones?

SenPaterson

SenPaterson School is not for churches to rum mission grounds. Study of Religions is great

SenPaterson My kids watched videos during scripture . Or went to Buddhist classes because they were the least boring

SenPaterson

SenPaterson My Children grew up Buddhists, but I encouraged them to go to Religious classes to learn about our Christian Constitutional Roots. It's so important for our cultural identity and values too.

SenPaterson As long as you let other religions like Scientology and satanism have equal access to the kiddies.

SenPaterson All part of the socialist anti religion program. Without God we have no foundation for real morality.

'Escapes'? He set up this Inquiry with carefully delineated terms of reference designed to prevent scrutiny of himself & his ministers. The ex-judge presiding lacks coercive powers. The whole point of this was to whitewash his government's culpability. We need a Royal Commission. No surprises there. Similar to scummo not allowing Border Force reps to the Ruby Princess inquiry. That debacle is squarely the LNP and heir Sutton's fault..
