Perth Basin gas group Warrego Energy’s expected to formally put Kerry Stokes’ Beach Energy on notice on Monday, telling it to come up with at least another $40 million if it wants to bulk up in the Perth Basin.
It’s hard to see how Warrego could do anything but tell Seven Group-backed Beach Energy it’s been trumped and trigger its five-day matching period, given the near $40 million gap between the two bids and the attached conditions. [Beach Energy’s most recent offer was at 25¢].
