Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles takes a swipe at likely Liberal Party leader Peter Dutton amid 'secret' friendship confession
"Firstly, can I say in all seriousness with Peter it is a very big thing to lead one of the parties of government and it's a significant moment in Peter's life to be leading the Liberal Party," Mr Marles told host Today Karl Stefanovic on Friday."Not that well, but in this initial moment wish him well."
Stefanovic then asked if Mr Marles stood by his previous comments that Western Australian Labor Premier Mark McGowan"was right" to claim Mr Dutton was"not that smart".“Look Mark McGowan speaks sense that’s what I would say,” Mr Marles shot back.The interview came after the likely next leader of the Liberal Party was targeted by several high-profile Labor representatives in recent days.
