geoffrey_payne I am volunteer in NSWRFS who has suffered smoke inhalation & stress during January fires. Contacted their Critical Incident Councillors(CIS) asked to speak to a professional councillor & was fobbed off on to unprofessional volunteer. So have put in claim for counselling, waiting!

Wait for it.....6 more months and they will be remembered.

😢

parisasparagus I have always been surprised & struck by how much vital work in Australia is conducted by volunteers. If they're taken for granted, & not supported in their time of need, they WILL stop volunteering, & it'll cost the Country orders of magnitude more to provide essential services.

Yet the Red Cross have profited by & $95 Million which is largely unspent, excepting salary and expenses increases for Red Cross Executives.

That's how our media works, or dare I say how the public works - moving from one catastrophe to the next in the pursuit of bigger ratings.

Industrialized volunteerism at its best

Our RFS is tougher than that....surely.
