Electronic script provider MediSecure has confirmed that it is the national health organisation to have fallen victim to a “large-scale” ransomware data breach that has exposed Australians' personal health records.

MediSecure has also notified the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner and other key regulators.”
"I am working with agencies across the Australian government, states and territories to coordinate a whole-of-government response to this incident." Home Affairs Minister Clare O'Neil said she had been briefed about the incident in recent days and the government convened a National Coordination Mechanism on Thursday.
