Diversity and inclusion training does seem like the most important thing when deciding to put a parks person in charge of quarantine We are governed by imbeciles Did no-one think that maybe a public health specialist might be a good idea

Someone standing next to her child is dehumanising?

Remember all these establishments are run by Private Business. So you can expect a better solution when there is money to be made.

Add this to the long list of failures of Captian DanielAndrewsMP & his incompetent team.

Hotel inquiry to report back in November? Worksafe Vic are very quite as the regulator. Victoria Government is the primary contractor. OHS Act appears only to apply to the private sector.

Imagine how our guests in off shore detention feel!

Sooks.

'Ms Ratcliff said she was accused of being 'difficult' [...] when she refused to answer questions about her health status in protest against what she believed were failings at the hotel' Not just difficult...whiny, attention-seeking, stupid, and clearly the problem in this case.

My niece and her partner had been planning to come home for a few months after PHD and Masters study finished. Then Covid happened. They're not looking for a handout. They'll pay their dues. They'll take quarantine on the chin but they're not being given a chance.

The. Word. Returned. Traveler. Is. The. Most. Dehumanising. Part. IStillCallAustraliaHome and beg you to stop calling us “returned travelers”.

What do they think it is? A hotel?

'Unreasonable demands': Health staff ignored suicide threat in hotel quarantine, inquiry toldHealth officials lost track of returned travellers staying in Melbourne's hotel quarantine scheme and threats of suicide were dismissed, according to a nurse giving evidence at an inquiry into the botched program. I'm sick of the people in this story harping on about mask usage. If people recall, the unnamed nurse was shown a training document from the Australian government which clearly showed masks won't stop the spread of the virus. Get off the hind-sight bandwagon. They didn't know.

Nurses detail 'chaotic' scenes in Victoria's hotel quarantineNurses have spoken at Victoria's inquiry into hotel quarantine about their concerns over breaches of mask protocol and other issues. All about 15mins of fame me thinks So the inquiry gets told about a breach of responsibilities under the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004. And what? Nothing? because the VIC government is the primary contractor. This is a rubbish enquiry unlikely anyone will be held accountable.

NSW should not have to 'bear the brunt of hotel quarantine' | Sky News AustraliaLiberal Senator Andrew Bragg says the states and territories need to 'share the burden' of hotel quarantine for returned travellers.\n\nMr Bragg said hotel quarantine in NSW was at a bit of a “choke point” with approximately 350 people held in mandatory isolation each day.\n\n“One of the most successful components of our strategy to beat the coronavirus has been closing international borders,” the Senator acknowledged.\n\n“We do need to see the states providing more capacity on hotel quarantine so we can have higher entrance into Australia”.\n\nHis comments responded to a push to open international borders and allow Australians to travel overseas at their own risk with hotel quarantine upon return.\n\nIn contrast, Labor MP Anika Wells said, “we’ve always got to balance … public health and safety with the best of the medical advice and the best industry advice.”\n\n“If Qantas is working on the basis that international borders won’t open until mid-next year, then that’s what we should be focusing on,' she said.\n\nImage: AP ajamesbragg Like sharing cruise ship passengers by air?
