A registered sex offender is arrested at a property in Canberra, charged with possessing and transmitting child abuse material from several devices, and for failing to report as a registerable offender.

A Canberra man is charged for possession and transmission of child abuse material, and failing to report as a registerable sex offender .

In February the ACT Joint Anti-Child Exploitation Team received a report about child abuse material being accessed from an account allegedly linked to the man. The man faced the ACT Magistrates Court on Friday charged with possession of child abuse material, failing to report as a registerable offender, and using a carriage service to transmit child abuse material.

Detective Inspector Leonard said ACT Policing would continue to focus on disrupting and apprehending child sexual offenders. Detective Inspector Leonard also turned her attention to as-yet unidentified child sexual offenders with a warning.
