Kane Cornes has led the backlash to the heaviest suspension ever handed down in the AFLW after the horrific incident this weekend.

A tribunal hearing on Tuesday evening handed Crows star Ebony Marinoff the biggest ban in league history for the incident that left Giant Brid Stack with a fractured neck.

Marinoff pleaded not guilty to engaging in forceful front-on contact, arguing she had no alternative but to make contact with Stack because of the presence of another Giants player in the middle of a loose ball squabble.“I’m really disappointed with this outcome, it was never my intention to hurt Brid,” Marinoff said.

Shit happens unfortunately. These are the risks you take playing contact sport. The tribunal is a complete joke

Agree Deb could not avoid this terrible accident. Poor form AFL.

A sport that’s “ as rough as guts” , with no real sporting flair or strategy what so ever. This is what you get , people with lifelong injuries trying to “ GRAB” a f...king ball off the ground and running like mad.

It’s a horrific accident nothing more part of the game.

Slowed it down viewed it 3 times, there was no malice and purely an accident involving 3 players going for the ball. A very sad but unfortunate accident.
