The Rural Fire Service's Anthony Bradstreet says Friday saw a record "17 emergency warning fires" burning across New South Wales.

"There are currently 77 bush and grass fires currently burning across New South Wales," he said. Mr Broadsheet says 42 fires are uncontained and eight are burning at the emergency warning level. Over 900 firefighters remain in the field. Image: News Corp Australia
