Canberra officials are questioning whether Sharks trainer Daniel Holdsworth deliberately ran through Jamal Fogarty’s line of sight while he was attempting a crucial conversion.

Canberra will lodge a formal complaint with the NRL on Tuesday over an incident in Sunday night’s defeat to Cronulla that calls the Sharks’ sportsmanship into question.

Unhappy Raiders officials, speaking on the condition of anonymity due to the official nature of the complaint, are questioning whether Holdsworth deliberately ran within metres of Fogarty to put him off as he moved in to strike the kick. Sharks trainer Daniel Holdsworth runs past Jamal Fogarty as he attempts a conversion on Sunday night. The Sharks have been approached for comment.it will crack down on trainers spending excessive time on the field, fining Parramatta after an Eels assistant coach ran in front of the goalposts as Penrith’s Nathan Cleary attempted a sideline conversion.

The NRL originally handed the Eels a breach notice of $5000 and warned all clubs about trainers being on the field when not necessary. There is no suggestion Murphy ran in front of the goalposts to intentionally distract Cleary.
