Tennis legend Rafael Nadal has announced his withdrawal from the upcoming Monte Carlo Masters, raising doubts about his ability to compete at the French Open and potentially shortening his career.

Tennis legend Rafael Nadal has made another sad admission after being forced to withdraw from the upcoming Monte Carlo Masters . Nadal’s brilliant tennis career is coming to a rapid close and his body continues to let him down.

The injury-plagued 22-time grand slam champion skipped the Indian Wells Masters last month saying he was not “ready to play at the highest level”, but was expected to return for the clay-court swing in the build-up to the French Open, which he has won a record 14 times. “These are very difficult moments for me, sporting wise,” Nadal said in a statement on social media on Thursday. Unfortunately I have to tell you that I am not going to be playing in Monte Carlo.
