More than 470 people were taken out of Kabul overnight on several RAAF rescue flights, as the situation for Australians and Afghans who helped Western soldiers remained highly unstable. The number of remaining people to be evacuated is significant and constantly changingHome Affairs Minister Karen Andrews said the most recent rescue flight included Australians, Afghan nationals and British citizens, who were taken to a nearby military base in Dubai to be processed.
"There is a significant number. I don't want to put a figure on it because it is changing almost by the hour as more people are seeking to come to Australia," Ms Andrews said. Crowds have grown at Kabul's international airport in recent days, despite Taliban blockades at the entry making it nearly impossible for some to get in.
I hope the Twitter lovies, who last week added advanced military operations, to their endless list of instant expertise when criticising the RAAF are now satisfied...the lovies of course as usual, did nothing...but hope their satisified!
