RA feared for Castle after death threat at height of Folau scandal

From the moment Folau, the former Wallabies fullback and highest paid player in the country, sent out a controversial Instagram comment in 2018 that read "HELL" when asked what God’s plans were for gay people, RA was faced with a difficult situation.

According to a source with knowledge of the situation, RA decided it needed to have extra security in the building for Castle's protection. It is unclear how much money was spent on upgrading security measures, but the reaction was swift and the threat a clear reminder it had to be taken seriously. She was subjected to vitriol on social media as well as public criticism for a number of different reasons on a scale that few Australian sporting administrators have had to endure.

As it turns out, Castle resigned the following day when she found out she did not have the board's unanimous support.Raelene Castle received a death threat over RA's handling of the Israel Folau saga."I’m not a social media person, but I’m aware of some of the things that were said over a period of time in a quite vicious and vitriolic way," McLean said. "It’s the silent forces, the dark forces, they’re the things that upset me most.

Castle handled the Folau case as well as could be expected. Settling a case is wise even if in court RA might have won.

What about the death threats Folau got ? Did RU fear for him ?

This is football, a game, a sport and people are behaving like this ? We are supposed to better than this, to threaten a person with death for doing her job is disgusting.

I’ve said it before, when Rugby took on Christianity under the guise of homophobia to save the Qantas sponsorship they were in trouble. As it turns out the Qantas money will be gone anyway
