man and his stepson have been sentenced to community service for looting a Brisbane business during a flood disaster in February.
The court heard the pair hatched the plan as thousands were losing their homes in the floods, driving two vehicles and a trailer from their home on the Gold Coast to Rocklea in Brisbane, where they found 57 tyres that had floated away from the auto-repair shop. They were caught by police and video showed them attempting to drive away with the pilfered items.Magistrate Julian Noud called Paul and Taurima's behaviour "most despicable" during sentencing.
They have each been sentenced to 85 hours of community service, with no criminal conviction recorded.Police Minister Mark Ryan called their actions "disgusting, grubby behaviour".
What happened to the severe penalty, community service and no criminal conviction is a joke not a penalty.
Crime pays indeed in Auslandia, slap on the wrist 👏👍🤣🤣🤣
