New figures reveal the extent of the teacher workforce shortage gripping Queensland state schools.

The shortages led 476 school principals to indicate the impact on their staff's and their own well-being had been "high" or "significant".

Opposition education spokesman Christian Rowan said teacher shortages had a negative effect on both students and teachers. In response to the Question on Notice, Education Minister Grace Grace said the education department was continuing to work with schools to address current and emerging workforce needs.

Happening right now in Sydney - we are heading into uncharted waters here and there is nopositive leadership on the matter - the solution needs bipartisanship and logical intelligence- something sorely missing in politics as the moment

It's almost, and stick with me here, that we have a crisis. A crisis that needs to be addressed with better pay and conditions to stop teachers breaking down and quitting.

All essential services have been neglected for too long. Pay and conditions must improve to fix this situation. You can't be the clever country with an uneducated cohort.

Student learning practical activities require supervision.

Wow even more under educated teachers to teach the kids. Australia's education system was appalling before Covid. The next generation of school leavers won't be able to read, write or do math to an acceptable level.

If you neglect the people you depend on for your society to function, you'll eventually pay a very big price for doing so.

Of course not, vaccine mandates forced hundreds of thousands of Aussies to quit work, the damage they have caused to all industries will take years to recover plus vaccines did nothing to stop or slow the spread, in fact made it worse, we are one of the most infected per capita
