Queensland has reopened to vaccinated Australians, 229 days since imposing a hard border.
The easing follows the state reaching the 80 per cent double dose vaccination milestone last week, with tens of thousands expected to travel north for the festive season in a much-needed boost for tourism. "The current situation for COVID on the Gold Coast is one that we've been preparing for, for two years," District Acting Chief Superintendent Rhys Wildman said on Friday.
Border residents with 'XV' travel passes should expect stops from officers, Supt Wildman added, but those without should be prepared for officers to probe all required documentation.
Who will want to go. there when not even MPs are mandated to be vaccinated. Bars, shops, cafes , restaurants, medical facilities and many more ARE mandated and even if not, they choose to be so in order to reassure their patrons.

No. This headline is misleading. StrandedAussies are still effectively locked out. 14 days quarantine at 80% DD is not only absurd, its also not even correct according to the Oct 1st recommendations they claim to be following. They will be in quarantine for Christmas.
