As the iconic red dirt of Birdsville 's desert country turns green after months of flooding, Queensland is emerging from more than a decade of drought.

At its worst, around 88 per cent of Queensland was gripped by drought, forcing farmers to sell their properties and graziers to destock.In the Diamantina Shire, strong wet seasons brought floods and rain, ending an 11-year drought. Most of Queensland was drought declared in December 2015. / Queensland was declared drought-free in May.

Cr Murray's concern is that as the pendulum swings back to a dry season, graziers will be left without drought funding. On its way to Kati-Thanda Lake Eyre, the water fills channels and creeks across thousands of hectares. Diana shoved her 'wicked' stepmother down the steps and ruined her reputation.
