The Australian Industry Group has called for clearer COVID-19 plans from the Queensland government just hours after the Deputy Premier said they had been taking advice from the business community.

Queensland Head of The Australian Industry Group Rebecca Andrews slammed the state government for a “lack of clarity and common sense” surrounding the plans for when 90 per cent double dose is reached.

Despite Mr Miles’ comments Ms Andrews said businesses had been left in the dark with regards to the COVID-19 plans. “For example: Do the current rules apply?; Will they need to close their business or just parts of it?; Will they be required to conduct a costly deep clean?; and how long do people need to be in quarantine?”

The Head of the Ai group in Queensland also said the government’s “overly strict border rules” had suffocated the state's tourism industry and economic recovery.
