Qld Opposition Leader David Crisafulli has hit out at the state government for spending"1,000 days" focusing on stadium discussions and the"red carpet" for the Brisbane Olympics instead of prioritising plans to create generational infrastructure.Opposition Leader David Crisafulli has declared Queenslanders have"lost faith" in the state government over its handling of planning for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
"The terms of the agreement was that there wouldn’t be new stadiums and that’s what Queenslanders signed on to," Mr Crisafulli told Sky News Australia host Laura Jayes on Wednesday. "And that is getting all levels of government around the table and building generational infrastructure," he said. The government will instead explore upgrades to the Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre, formerly known as QEII, with Suncorp Stadium and the Gabba to also receive upgrades.
