Queensland firefighters are working to build containment lines as a bushfire rages through the Deongwar State Forest.

The fire is currently burning in the forest between Esk and Pechey, with QFES Assistant Commissioner John Bolger telling Sky News that the fire is expected to “make a turn

towards Crows Nest” today. “Today is all about building containment lines,” he said. The QFES Assistant Commissioner’s comments come as 70 bushfires are still burning across Queensland.
