No one should be forced to undergo such conversion. But those who choose to should be given the option. Personally Jesus will open your eyes one day and show you homosexuality is a sin just like many other things people do to dishonor God. There is no gay gene, it's a choice.

If converting people back from one group can be classed as 'highly destructive and unethical', what stops people from using the term for those converting to the LGBT side? Nothing. Its just talk to make the other side look bad in the eyes of the people around them.

Not really sure why that was made illegal. If people are allowed to support the LGBT community and those converting to the group (via those gender therapists), why must people not be allowed to support those from the LGBT community convert back (via psychologists as example).
