Monday's Q&A panel included Kristy McBain, Andrew Constance, Victor Steffensen, Cheryl McCarthy, Michael Mann and Jim Molan.Let's not beat about the bush: Macdonald is a superstar and we will be watching him for a very long time.
He may be the best thing that has happened to the ABC in years: young, smart, serious, agile and handsome. He apparently can do anything; he switches from the heavy lifting of Radio National breakfast in the morning to the 27 other things he evidently does for the rest of the day and night. The nation's big question for Hamish Macdonald is when does he sleep. The show was thrown to the people from the get-go - it opened with a video montage of questions and reflections.
And then there was Andrew Constance, the NSW Liberal MP whose local community is in ruins. He made your heart break and forget about politics. His face told a thousand stories.Macdonald had to wrangle left and right and much loss and tragedy in between, and did so adeptly. The major crowd sport was the audience jeering of Jim Molan, whose questioning of the notion that man-made climate change had contributed to the fire disaster was howled down.
He has big shoes to fill. The expert tap dance that Tony Jones managed across the tightrope of audience questions, five guests and a live broadcast has always been underestimated. Macdonald appears up for the task. In a year that promises a storm of news and controversy, he may bring new life to the Monday night institution.
hamishNews Impressed by David Spears and Hamish, great replacements.
hamishNews Lol. The SMH is as delusional as the Q&A's new far left host. All they do is bring in a conservative clay pigeon each week to slaughter with virtue signalling rubbish. Last night proves nothing has changed since the last far left host was there.
hamishNews Yes indeed!
hamishNews Who? I thought the Q&A was dusted when ding bat left Should we still have to fund this shit
hamishNews
hamishNews Superstar? We need decent journalists on the ABC, not superstars. Looks like not much has changed. He'll line up well with all the pretty, well-heeled others...open shirt? Wow! But let us be hopeful.
hamishNews Haha.
hamishNews Not discrediting Hamish's skills, but Tony Jones was also a quite capable host.
hamishNews Hell yes! Hamish is really good at his job!
hamishNews Changing chairs on the Titanic. It’s still a leftie lynch mob.
hamishNews Yeah, because they don’t need to care about ratings. Make the ABC a subscription service. I’m sick of paying for the biased crap.
hamishNews Yes agree! But he let Constance waffle on!
hamishNews LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
