Palm Sunday protesters have gathered in Melbourne and cities across the country calling to better treatment of asylum seekers. There have been more than a dozen protests across Australian cities and regional centres on Sunday calling for the release of all asylum seekers in detention, and permanent protection for those on temporary or bridging visas, with demonstrators using the opportunity to call for a policy shift towards a "fairer" refugee program.
The Park Hotel captured the world’s attention in January, when World No.1 tennis star Novak Djokovic was temporarily detained. "This is a small celebration for those released, but it is not over until they are all released," said Pamela Curr from the ASRC in Melbourne.Credit:"I know there are many families that have been stuck in community detention for 10 years, that means they are denied the right to work, they are denied the right to study. They are just fed and watered. It is horrible."

We are in need of more labours. I welcome more refugee intake IF they are willing to work and behave. I do not want my tax money goes into feed lazy refugee that exploits the system.

Australia needs willing front line workers
I'm fine with this as long as the protesters are willing to share their homes with the refugees that would be coming in. Because as it stands with the current rental crisis, there is nowhere for people already here to live. Let alone more refugees
Do they have jobs ? No Do they have money (they did until they gave scammers the money to fast track in Australia, but got scammed ) ?no Do they have housing ?no
