Rain fails to stop protest against detention of refugees and asylum seekers

Hundreds of people have rallied outside a hotel in Brisbane where refugees and asylum seekers are being detained., but organisers moved the midday rally to nearby Raymond Park in Kangaroo Point.About 3,000 people had said on social media that they were interested in going to today's protest, but about 200 showed up, and endured a burst of heavy rain.

Dozens of police officers have manned the streets surrounding the park and outside the Kangaroo Point Central Hotel, where the refugees and asylum seekers — totalling about 100 — are being detained.

Shut it down. The antimask protest organisers were arrested prior to the protest in Melbourne. Do it now with this lot. Labor governments keep losing moral legitimacy with their obvious double standards in policing.

Supreme Court prohibits protest on Brisbane's Story BridgeQueensland's Attorney-General Yvette D'Ath is granted a Supreme Court order prohibiting a planned sit-in protest on Brisbane's Story Bridge this weekend.. Funny how COVID has been a great excuse to shut down all community driven political activity. These refugee activists are traitors, but they have honest opinions and should be allowed to express them. At least for documentation so we know who to punish later. Imagine if this effort by the State was spent on litigating against the criminals who are imprisoning and torturing innocent people for political gain perhaps the person on the left could hold a protest at K F C
