Office landlords are grappling with how to reopen bathroom facilities for workers to shower after they ride, cycle or jog to work.
Dexus said it has been working with thousands of tenants to ensure bathroom cleaning and hygiene was ramped up to meet the needs of returning workers and Safe Work Australia guidelines.A spokesman for the Property Council of Australia said it was looking at guidance around facilities including showers.
Deloitte partner Michael Williams said staff would be worried about returning to work and using shared kitchen and bathroom facilities."There is no doubt that there is a decent proportion of the working population who would rather, during the next three to six or 12 months, not spend too much time in the office particularly in shared spaces like kitchens, bathrooms and end-of-trip facilities," he said.
PwC chief strategy, risk and reputation officer Sean Gregory said the health and hygiene concerns of employees would be central to office reopening strategies.
