Premier Daniel Andrews and the state’s other top five politicians have won annual pay rises worth nearly 12 per cent.
The Premier’s total wage will rise to $441,000 by July next year, an annual increase of more than $46,000, and making Mr Andrews Australia’s best-paid state leader.Further down the parliamentary food chain, backbench MPs will get a pay rise of 3.5 per cent after Tuesday’s decision by the independent Remuneration Tribunal, taking their annual wage to $182,413.

I just don't understand what these politicians have done to deserve a 12% pay rise. The State is facing an 80 billion debt and by 2023 debt will represent 12% of the budget. The likelihood of more infrastructure projects is zero.
