Two of Alice Springs' power stations, which normally run on gas, have been on expensive backup diesel intermittently since November due to a union stand-off.

Mr Hayes said the government was to blame for not meeting the union's demands."We're just dumbfounded about the lack of urgency … to want to get this deal done."We're using bans that we see can have the effect to try and get the right people to the table, but not disrupt the public."

Mr Hayes said the union was seeking an increase above 4 per cent to address cost-of-living pressures. "We thank the union for negotiating and we respect our hardworking Territory Generation staff and the critical role they play in keeping the lights on.""We will continue to work with unions in good faith and ensure discussions remain open; and to work with the union to minimise the impacts of the protected industrial action on Territorians' power supplies."Vicki Telfer has been at the negotiating table.

The Union's and Labor Party are all out for what they can grab for themselves, at the expense of anyone else, no regard for others and will continue to kill major industries, jobs with it, all for greedy selfishness.

Why doesn’t management make the change back to gas? Is it because the power station is Labor government owned and they don’t want to upset their union bosses?

So basically they are running on diesel which is more expensive as the unions will not return plant to gas, or they can give into union demands for lower hours, employ more people and other benefits which will be a more expensive operation. Plus it’s management fault .

So the electricians are allowing you to have power, how nice of them. How deplorable the government allowed diesel to be burnt instead of negotiating properly.

Alice Springs crime crisis experiences ‘dramatic improvement’ since two-day alcohol banAlice Springs’s crime crisis has experienced a “dramatic improvement” since the Northern Territory government implemented a two-day ban on takeaway alcohol in the community, says Alice Springs GP Dr John Boffa. “Senior police are describing the data they’ve got on Monday and Tuesday this week as unprecedented,” Dr Boffa told Sky News Australia. “Domestic violence incidents, which were running extremely high, were much, much lower as well, about a quarter of what they were. “So we’ve seen some immediately positive impacts from the restrictions that were put in place, which are different to Stronger Futures, but we know takeaway-free days are very effective. “It’s giving us the circuit-breaker we needed while the deliberations happen about where we go next with bringing back Stronger Futures.” Bullshit 😂😂😂😂😂 bullshit It’s not 🚀 science BAN the booze: protect the children you f—ken 🤡

Alice Springs holds community meeting to address neglect of the townHundreds of people have attended a community meeting in Alice Springs to address what some say is neglect of the outback town. Organisers used the gathering to gauge support for potential legal action against the Northern Territory government. Residents are considering a $1.5 billion class action over what they're describing as 'negligence'. Many in the town are divided over whether a complete alcohol ban needs to be reintroduced. No one wants to touch what first must be done. The children out habitually night after night creating chaos need to be pulled out of those families for a time and then see if the disfunction in those families can be treated or not.
