Yes as stopping all elective surgery incase the hospitals filled up with Covid cases was a waste of time. The backlog of elective surgery now is biting hard.

More university places and easier entry requirements is one way of solving this shortage.

Governments need to start thinking about subsiding private health insurance, bring the rebate back up to 30% and abolish the life time health cover, subsided private healthcare for all pensioners and disability pensioners, that way we can bring down the long wait lists.
