The Country Fire Service says the threat the fire at Duck Ponds poses to the community has lessened but it is not yet contained.
Firefighters battled in catastrophic conditions late on Monday as the fire moved toward the city, before crews stopped its spread about 8:00pm. A cool change helped efforts on the ground but crews were kept busy throughout the night containing flare-ups and spot fires in gusty conditions.Today, 30 firefighters from Adelaide will relieve local crews and a special team will also tour the fireground to assess the damage.
The CFS says two people, including one firefighter, were taken to hospital with minor injuries and six sheds were destroyed in the blaze.
