Pop star Cody Simpson made a stunning return to top level swimming with his first competitive race in Australian waters for over a decade a raging success.

"I probably would have liked to have gone a little quicker, but it was the first race back in a long time and I've only just come out of quarantine," Simpson told News Corp. "The nerves were not as bad as I thought, though they probably would have been a little worse for the 100m because the 50m is a little less pressure."My mum and dad were here. Both were swimmers so they were excited to see me back in the water."

He recently returned to Australia and spent two weeks in quarantine, before beginning training with renowned Queensland coach Michael Bohl.
