Opinion: An Australian Ironman champion has a perfect analogy for those in the water sports community hesitant about getting a COVID vaccine | Peter_Fitz

The answer is, he is an Australian Ironman champion and he is beyond brilliant.A few days ago, Poole put up an Instagram post, quoted in the, aimed at influencing those of the water sports community who are anti-vaxxers – and they seem to suffer more than their fair share, including former Ironman champion Trevor Hendy – to return to sanity.

Despite Poole’s genius – did I mention – this was not good enough for some, including Hendy and 11-time world surfing champion, Kelly Slater.Let’s have Slater’s response first, because I just can’t wait! Ummm, Kelly. Do you get this is not just about you, but about the community you are a part of? That getting the vaccine is not just about keeping yourself safer, but also limiting the likelihood of you passing it on to those less healthy than you.“If something happens to me it’s on me, not someone else.”

They face much higher risk of myocarditis, which is far more serious at that age vs actually having severe illness or death from covid. And if they do catch it, they recover and are protected against more variants with natural immunity, unlike the vax.

And because Australia is big pharma's bitch, we already know they are going to roll out boosters. Monthly. Then weekly. Eventually daily. FMD. we don’t need them… the B and T cell efficacy is fine… this is fkn bs… the govt is going overboard Australia started so far behind most of the western world with covid vaccination that there will be plenty of time to assess what's working in other countries before making recommendations.
