Police Association secretary Wayne Gatt said check-in data should be used solely for contact tracing.Police Association secretary Wayne Gatt was critical of police Chief Commissioner Shane Patton’s admission on Monday that officers requested check-in data on three occasions in December, all of which were denied by the state government.he was opposed to check-in data being used for anything except contact tracing.

michaelfowler08 Not all the Q R codes in the shops work properly. Some are instantaneous. Other not.
michaelfowler08 It has already happened here in West Aussie... It's too late for me... I uninstalled the WA Safe app QR Code I don't trust them... they promised the data would never be used for anything other than Covid
michaelfowler08 More blunderbust from these Muppets Same germs gave powers for a few pieces of silver for their own self importance, now crowing about what they allowed. Absolute Muppets
michaelfowler08 Until the police crack a suspected paedophile ring..... then it's ok.
michaelfowler08 So how do you feel about RBT legislation..? It’s the exact same principle of unreasonable search & seizure
GrogsGamut michaelfowler08 This sounds like the opposition asking for something they know everyone supports and will happen anyway - despite it kinda already happening - so that at the next election they have something they can point to and say 'See, we made that happen'.
michaelfowler08 Agreed - lock the data down.
michaelfowler08 Just like what's happened in WA
michaelfowler08 Can you imagine the hysteria from the party of law and order, aka the LNP, if a serious offender was acquitted because the prosecutors could not access QR records that put them at the scene of the crime.
michaelfowler08 What part of NEEDS A COURT ORDER did you not understand? Vicpol can get access to all sorts of info from all sorts of agencies, but they need a reason and a COURT ORDER.
michaelfowler08 Hangon.... the POLICE tried to access Victoria QR code data 3 times. Were denied by Vic Govt. So now, popo and the age trying to turn it around onto Vic Govt. Standard.
michaelfowler08 Until the next govt media fear campaign...
michaelfowler08 Hahaha what a joke. They simply claim data has been hacked and sent to police
michaelfowler08 A “union” joining forces with the Coalition. By name only I guess.
michaelfowler08 After Lawyer X, you would think VicPol would learn. But Ashton and Co got away with it, now on fat pensions/super benefits. Ashton needs to go to jail and at the very least be stripped of his extravagant pension/super benefits to teach others a lesson.
michaelfowler08 Yeah because me going to Bunnings for a light globe and to Macca's for a big Mac is a national secret. Where were these people when Victorians demanded accountability from Andrews govt for 800+ deaths and less than satisfactory performance at the judicial HQ inquiry. 9NewsMelb
michaelfowler08 Wait till Matthew Guy is premier. He'll sell data to his mafia mates
