Charges have been handed down over a terrifying home invasion in which an elderly WA couple was allegedly viciously attacked after answering the door to three people posing as police officers. Police said 73-year-old Ninette Simons was knocked unconscious after being held down and punched in the face several times during a harrowing ordeal at her home on Allinson Dr in Girrawheen, Perth , about 7pm on April 16.
A 38-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman were arrested at the home before the man was charged over the burglary. A second warrant was executed at a home on Bangalla Pl in Balcatta on Sunday, with a 48-year-old woman arrested. Police allege she drove the three men to and from the Girrawheen property on the night of the burglary. Another man, 43, was arrested while police executed a search warrant on Cape St in Osborne Park.
