Police shut down Alice Springs bottle shops amid crime crisis

The two busiest bottle shops in Alice Springs have been forced to shut their doors this weekend amid an ongoing crime crisis and worsening rates of alcohol-fuelled violence.The Gap View Hotel, also now owned by Sydney-based Iris Capital, is also barred from opening todayA snap, 48-hour suspension of the liquor licence of the Iris Capital-owned Todd Tavern was announced in a statement issued by NT Police late yesterday.

"After extensive investigations into the responsible service of alcohol, police are satisfied that the actions of this licensee constitute an ongoing threat to public safety in the area," Acting Commander Mark Grieve said in the statement.

Wonder when labor will fix up the absolute nonsense policies they have introduced that caused these issues. Also wonder when the media might call this for what it is - a complete stuff up by labor.
